    Current Perspectives on Innovation and Multidisciplinary Approaches in Medicine

    This issue of the Jornal da Sociedade das Ciências Médicas de Lisboa brings together reflections on the growing integration between technology and medicine, as well as the foundational role of interdisciplinary collaboration in clinical practice and research. The editorial outlines the historical evolution of this relationship, highlighting the impact of data acquisition and interpretation technologies. Complementing this perspective, the issue presents a summary of the Society’s First Congress, held in Torres Vedras, whose scientific program focused on topics such as the transformation of medical consultation, global health, translational research, and new models for clinical studies.

    We reaffirm our commitment to making Jornal da Sociedade das Ciências Médicas de Lisboa a key platform for disseminating current knowledge across the broad field of medical and health sciences. Our intention is not to compete with other publications, but to carve out our own path in reaching all areas of health sciences.
    As the Jornal da Sociedade das Ciências Médicas de Lisboa is the official publication of the medical schools, Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa and Nova Medical School – Faculdade de Ciências Médicas, we are pleased to feature scientific papers from both undergraduate and postgraduate authors, including academic theses and other works from all areas of health sciences.
